Australia Day in Gosford City promises to offer another meaningful way to reflect on why we are the lucky country, with celebrations taking place at Wagstaffe and Woy Woy, as well as Gosford’s Kibble Park, which will include the prestigious Australia Day Community Awards. For 2015, the Woolworths Australia Day Ambassador has been named as Mr John Hutchinson, a foundation Central Coast Mariners player and the current captain of the club.

Flag raising and Australian National Anthem.
Australia Day Addresses: Mayor of Gosford City Clr Lawrie McKinna, Deputy Mayor of Gosford City and Australia Day Chairman, Clr Jim Macfadyen and Woolworths Australia Day Ambassador John Hutchinson.
Prayer for the Nation.
Citizens’ Affirmation Pledge.
Musical performance.
Invitation to Breakfast by the Bay.


Gosford
(Kibble Park)
8am - 2pm

8am – 12pm: Multi faith service and blessing by Liberty Church. Entertainment from Central Coast School of Highland Dance, Central Coast Chinese Regal Dance, Singing Hands Choir, the Peninsula Pacific Islander Group, Asia Pop and Ellen Mara.
Come in your best Aussie outfit for our Best Dressed Competition or take part in our Aussie Trivia.
8am – 2pm: Children's activities and amusements, food and market stalls.
9am – 10am: Free BBQ breakfast.

12pm – 1.15pm: Official ceremony and Gosford City Australia Day Community Awards.
1.15pm – 2pm: Contemporary country duo, The Rough Diamonds.

Gosford Waterfront 1.15pm – 2pm: Gosford Sailing Club sail past.

Woy Woy (The Boulevarde) 2pm – 9.30pm

2pm – 6pm: Children’s activities in the CWA Hall (including face painting, colouring-in and games).
2pm – 9.30pm: Food and market stalls.

Entertainment on the Main Stage

2.15pm – 6pm:  Mungo the Magician, Centre Stage School of Dance, the Peninsula Pacific Island Group, Fletcher Pillon, Here Comes Treble, Just Between Us. 
4.30pm – 7.30pm: Drumbala (Memorial Park, Brick Wharf Road).
6pm: Official ceremony: Addresses by Mayor of Gosford City Clr Lawrie McKinna, Deputy Mayor of Gosford City and Australia Day Chairman, Clr Jim Macfadyen, and Woolworths Australia Day Ambassador John Hutchinson. Flag raising, Australian National Anthem and cutting of the cake.
6.45pm: Performances from Ellen Mara, Joe Coffee, and DRK Band (headline act).
8.30pm: Lantern Parade (CWA Hall to Memorial Park).
9.15pm: Fireworks spectacular with a Star 104.5FM live soundtrack.


Australia Day road closures

Road closures will affect a number of roads in Gosford, Woy Woy and Wagstaffe due to the 2015 Australia Day celebrations in Gosford City.

In Gosford, Mortimer Lane and Eliza Street Car Park will be closed between 6am and 4pm.

Free parking is available in both the Gosford Town Centre Car Park and the Imperial Shopping Centre.

In Woy Woy, Brick Wharf Road and The Boulevarde will be closed between 6am and 10pm.
Residents of Brick Wharf Road will be allowed entry from North Burge Road only, with the access lane between Brick Wharf Road and Chambers Place designated as ‘one way’ only from Brick Wharf Road.
Brisbane Water Drive, between the Spike Milligan Bridge and The Boulevarde, will also be closed between 9pm and 9.30pm.

In Pearl Beach, Pearl Parade between Tourmaline Avenue and Amethyst Avenue will be closed between the hours of 5am and 12noon. The intersection at Diamond Road and Tourmaline Avenue will be residents-only access.

In Wagstaffe, Mulhall Street, opposite the Wagstaffe ferry wharf, will be closed from 7pm on Saturday 24 January until 12pm on Monday 26 January 2015 for the Australia Day festivities.
