Thank You Australia - let's say thanks for our way of life. Today is an opportunity for all Australians to express and share their gratitude for the good fortune of being Australian, so join us today in celebrating and saying thanks.

We are pleased to announce that our Woolworths Australia Day Ambassador for 2014 is Ian Robilliard.

Gosford City Council is proud to have Star 104.5FM as radio media partner for the Australia Day Celebrations. Stay tuned to Star 104.5FM during the day for updates and crosses live from Wagstaffe, Gosford and Woy Woy.

Wagstaffe - Wagstaffe Square
8.00am - 10.30am
Wagstaffe will host an official ceremony including a Flag Raising, The Australian National Anthem, Australia Day Addresses, Guest Speakers and performances. The ceremony is wrapped up with an invitation for guests to stay and enjoy Breakfast By The Bay.
Roads Affected:         Mulhall Street opposite Wagstaffe ferry wharf will be closed from 7pm on Friday 24 January until 12noon on Sunday 26 January for the Australia Day festivities.

Gosford - Kibble Park

The celebrations start at 9am at the all new location for Australia Day Gosford – Kibble Park! Enjoy food and market stalls, a range of displays, children’s games and activities; get your glitter tattoo or coloured hairspray! Celebrate with a free Aussie breakfast between 9am – 10am, refill your water bottle at one of our fantastic water stations, grab your Australia Day badge and flag! Be sure to stop by and say hi to Craig & Mandy from Star 104.5FM crossing live from Kibble Park. For the very first time as part of our official ceremony at 12noon, we are proud to be recognising the nominees from the 2014 Gosford City Australia Day Community Awards, as well as the announcement of category winners and find out who our 2014 Gosford City Citizen of the Year will be! Hear an address from our Woolworths Australia Day Ambassador – Mr Ian Robilliard and of course, the all important flag raising and Australian National Anthem! There is a great variety of entertainment and be there at 1pm for our special headline act, proudly presented by Star 104.5FM, Christine Anu!

2014 Gosford City Australia Day Community Awards
For the very first time, the Gosford City Australia Day Community Awards are being held on Australia Day. Being nominated for a Gosford City Australia Day Community Award is a great honour. It is the highest civic award that a resident of Gosford City can receive at a local level and provides us with an opportunity to fully celebrate the diverse talents and remarkable services of our citizens. Congratulations to the nominees for the 2014 Gosford City Australia Day Community Awards.

Gosford Sailing Club Sail Past - See vessels of all shapes and sizes decorated in their Australia Day best parading along Gosford Waterfront.

The Banana Boat Family Fun Day will be held at Gosford Olympic Pool, featuring an inflatable aquatic obstacle course! Gosford Olympic Pool is open from 10am – 4pm and normal entry fees apply.

Fireworks Spectacular
Roads Affected: Brisbane Water Drive between the Spike Milligan Bridge and The Boulevarde will be closed between 9pm - 9.30pm
Brick Wharf Road and The Boulevarde - closed between 6am and 10pm. Residents of Brick Wharf Road will be allowed entry from North Burge Road only, with the access lane between Brick Wharf Road and Chambers Place one way only from Brick Wharf Road.

Woy Woy Waterfront will come to life from 2pm with great children’s activities, amusement rides and plenty of food and market stalls.  From 4pm enjoy live entertainment in Anderson Park including Joe Coffee, Jess Hind and The Cover Up to take the celebrations into the evening. Watch the Lantern Parade light up before the fireworks spectacular at 9.15pm, accompanied by a live soundtrack broadcast by Star 104.5FM.
