Ex-HMAS Adelaide Artificial Reef is the first for NSW
Important notice 20 Dec 2011: The moorings around the Adelaide have had to be removed for unscheduled maintenance. During this time temporary moorings have been instaled and are attached directly to the ship. The exception is the mooring off the stern on the port side which is approximatley 35 m off the ship. Divers approaching the temporary moorings must keep a close watch and approach slowly and proceed with caution.

The Ex- HMAS Adelaide is located 1.4 kms from the Skillion at Terrigal and 1.8 kms from Avoca Beach, resting in approximately 32 metres of water. In time, this artificial reef will earn its reputation as a world class dive attraction and create substantial benefits for the Central Coast community.
Prior to entering the Ex–HMAS Adelaide Reserve (R.1014968), you must acknowledge that your visit to the dive site is an inherently dangerous activity and you enter the Ex-HMAS Adelaide Reserve (R.1014968), entirely at your own risk.

How to Access the Reserve
You may only access the Ex-HMAS Adelaide Reserve and dive / snorkel site from a boat which is authorised to be on one of the six moorings between 6.00am and 6.30pm. All persons entering the Ex-HMAS ADELAIDE Reserve (R.1014968), whether for the purpose of diving, snorkelling, observing or any other purpose are required to purchase a Daily Permit for the date of issue and must only be used in conjunction with a valid mooring booking. Anyone diving on the site must comply with Australian Standard AS4005.1 or equivalent as a minimum level of certification. A maximum of 14 persons permitted in the water for each two hour mooring timeslot.

Option 1)
Book a dive tour with one of the two commercial dive operators with an exclusive mooring:
** In this instance, you will only be required to book a Permit

Book a dive tour with a Commercial Dive Tour Operator who has booked and paid for a casual commercial mooring through Central Coast Tourism
** In this instance, you will only be required to book a Permit

Book a timeslot with a 'Public' Mooring or ‘Club’ Mooring.
* In this instance, you will be required to book a Mooring for your vessel and a Permit for each person entering the Ex-HMAS Adelaide Reserve.

Cancellation Policy for Mooring Bookings
30 days prior 50% cancellation fee of total booking amount. Less than 30 days prior 100% cancellation fee of total booking amount. All bookings and payments are non-transferable unless weather conditions render the site inaccessible. In these circumstances, bookings can be rescheduled to a more appropriate timeslot.
Central Coast Tourism reserve the right to revoke a Permit and Mooring booking if the need arises to close the dive site for any reason whatsoever. In this circumstance, CCT will rebook / reschedule mooring reservation to another suitable timeslot, subject to availability. Bookings cannot be rescheduled in any other circumstance. All bookings require full payment at the time of booking. If weather or conditions not suitable for dive to proceed, customer or operator has 24 hours to notify CCT on 4343 4444 to rebook / re schedule mooring reservation to another suitable timeslot, subject to availability.
Permits to Enter

The team at Central Coast Tourism will manage the 24 hour reservation service via the internet for Permits, Moorings and Dive packages.

$18 per person per day.
